facts and figures


  • in 2008 1.103 billion magazines were in circulation in the UK
  • the UK boasts 7945 magazines in total
  • there are 6 kinds of magazine: consumer, B2B, customer, publisher, part works, newspaper supplement and academic journals
  • combined the consumer spends £1.98billion annually
  • TV choice is the most popular magazine with 1,309,469 in circulation
  • glamour is the most sold woman's magazine with 526,216 in circulation
  • for every 1 NME magazine sold, 27 copies of TV choice is sold
  • 9/10 adults read magazines 
  • on average it take 50mins to read a magazine 
  • each adult on average buy 22 magazines a year
  •  £1.6 billion is spent on advertising a year

    Alex, well done on completing all 1-5 research and planning tasks, but they do seem to lack detail. You research and planning does need to more than what's here really. We can talk about this in class
